Geweldig nieuws voor Disney fans! Het eerdere nieuws wordt bevestigd: streamingdienst Disney+ zal officieel starten in Nederland! Zo gaat ons koude kikkerlandje dienen als eerste locatie, samen met de Verenigde Staten en Canada.
Releasedatum en prijs abonnement Disney+
Ook is er een releasedatum bekendgemaakt voor de komst van de nieuwe streamingdienst: 12 november 2019! Ten slotte heeft Disney laten weten dat een abonnement in Nederland €6.99 per maand en €69.99 per jaar gaat kosten. Dat liet Holleywood Reporter vandaag weten. Het complete aanbod van Disney en de aan Disney gebonden producers zal op de streamingdienst te zien zijn. Alle Disney films vind je ook hier.
Lancering in andere landen
In Canada en de Verenigde Staten wordt de streamingdienst tegelijk gelanceerd met Nederland. Een week later zal de streamingdienst in Australië en Nieuw-Zeeland van start gaan. Volgens Disney zullen de rest van de landen volgen en wordt verwacht dat de streamingdienst in alle grote markten in de wereld beschikbaar is binnen de eerste twee jaar van de lancering. De bekende prijzen per land zijn tot nu toe als volgt:
- 12 november 2019 Nederland: €6.99 p/m & €69.99 p/j
- 12 november 2019 Canada: CAD$8.99 p/m & CAD$89.99 p/j
- 12 november 2019 Verenigde Staten: $6.99 p/m & $69.99 p/j

Als je de prijzen omrekent naar Amerikaanse dollars blijkt dat de drie andere landen goedkoper zijn dan de Verenigde Staten. Alleen Nederland is duurder ($7.75 t.o.v. $6.99) dan de VS als we naar de maandelijkse prijs van het Disney+ abonnement kijken.
Disney+ Aanbod
Over de oude Disney films op streamingdienst Disney+ liet CEO Bob Iger weten dat op een bepaald moment, kort na het uitrollen van de streamingdienst, alle films van Disney in het aanbod zullen komen. Ook de traditionele films van het wereldberoemde bedrijf. Verder worden er originele films en series bijgemaakt, zodat er een combinatie van oud en nieuw op de streamingdienst zal komen.

‘At some point, fairly soon after launch, it will house the entire Disney motion picture library. So the movies that you speak of that have traditionally been kept in a vault and have been brought out every few years will be on the service. And we’re producing a number of original movies and television shows that will be Disney branded. So it’s going to combine the old and the new.’
Vooralsnog is het al duidelijk dat Disney alle eigen producties op de streamingdienst gaat plaatsen, maar ook de films en series met Pixar, Marvel en Star Wars content. Zo zou het zelfs kunnen dat gecancelde Marvel-series zoals Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Punisher & Jessica Jones op de nieuwe streamingdienst Disney Plus weer tot leven gaan komen. Zodra er meer duidelijk is over het exacte aanbod van de nieuwe streamingdienst Disney+ zal dat op de aanbod pagina van Streamwijzer geplaatst worden.
Films en series direct online op Disney+
Van de volgende films en series, gesorteerd op alfabetische volgorde, is al bekend dat ze direct op de streamingdienst zullen verschijnen. Als namen er dubbel in staan betekent het dat zowel het origineel als de remake direct op Disney+ te zien zal zijn.
